Voters in Nebraska sided with efforts to limit loans that are payday moving an effort Tuesday that the Nebraska Catholic Conference had endorsed as a method to guard the indegent from becoming caught with debt.
Over 80% of Nebraskan voters supported Initiative http://pdqtitleloans.com/title-loans-wy/ 248, which caps payday advances at a 36% apr, the Lincoln Journal-Star reports. Formerly, the lending that is legal had been set at 400per cent.
Sixteen other states have comparable limitations, or prohibit payday lending completely.
The Nebraska Catholic Conference had been on the list of supporters associated with effort.
